These terms apply to the use of TurkicNames, operated by Ailiniyazi Maimaiti, München, Germany. Using the website is free and requires no account.

2. Nature of the content

TurkicNames is a reference for the meanings, origins and spellings of names used in Turkic languages. Entries are researched and linked to sources, but names can have several interpretations and sources can be wrong. The content is general information. It is not legal advice and does not replace the rules or decisions of a civil registry office about which names or spellings may be registered.

3. Copyright and licences

Our editorial texts, page design and illustrations are protected by copyright. You may quote short passages with a link to the page. Facts taken from third-party sources keep the licence of their source: for example, Wikidata data is CC0 and Wiktionary and Wikipedia content is CC BY-SA 4.0. Each page lists its sources and licences; see also Sources and methodology.

4. Correction suggestions

By sending a suggestion you allow us to use it to check and improve our entries. Please do not include personal data about other people.

5. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations, limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service. Liability under mandatory statutory provisions remains unaffected.

6. Applicable law

German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
